- Mary Marler was a registered nurse. During the war she wanted to do what she could to help her country. She got he wish in 1944. Mary received orders to go over seas. Marler went with the Naval Mobile Hospital No. 10 to Banika, a part of the Solomon Islands. From there Mary Bakei Marler served her country by fulfilling her duties as a nurse.

Kay Summersby
- In 1939 Kay Summersby Joined the British Mechanised Transport Corps even though she was Irish. Soon her excellent driving abilities became apparent. Summersby proved herself to be an expert at driving through blackouts and fog. In 1940 and 1941 she drove an ambulance through the London Blitz. Possibly the event that made Kay Summersby famous was when she became General Eisenhower personal driver in May of 1942. Soon afterwards she became Eisenhower's secretary. Summersby and Eisenhower's relationship was often under scrutiny. People were unsure of the manner of their relationship. Eisenhower helped Kay Summersby become and American citizen.
